    Abstract

    The article, the second in a two-part series, discusses the role of the Presbyterian Church (the Kirk) in the northern Highlands of Scotland after the signing of the National Covenant of 1638. The involvement of the church with education and social welfare issues is discussed, as is the lack of sufficient numbers of Covenanted clergy in the north.
